EPA / DOE Quality Control

Many state and federal energy rebate, grant, and recognition programs require proof of quality control (QC). For example, in Maryland, solar systems must be installed to certain standards to qualify for solar energy grants, and homeowners must use approved contractors to qualify for some Pepco energy rebates. In all jurisdictions, federal standards (EPA and DOE) need to be met for new homes to qualify for the Energy Star rating.

EDGE Energy is thoroughly versed in all of these standards, and we stay on top of all available energy efficiency incentives. We use a quality control (QC) process on every job to ensure that you will meet the requirements for any available energy credits.  And we are happy to share our knowledge with you. Contact Us today to find out what incentives are available in your area and to discuss how we can improve your home’s energy efficiency.

We ensure quality by:

  • Using a verifiable QC process on more than 150 residential jobs per year
  • Performing post-testing to quantify efficiency improvements
  • Participating in a Building Performance Institute program in which BPI re-checks 5 percent of our jobs for QC

We are already on the list of contractors approved to perform home improvements that qualify for energy rebates in D.C., Maryland and Virginia. We are a licensed contractor in all three jurisdictions, and we’ve been accredited by the Building Performance Institute. Learn more about our certifications.

In addition to federal incentives, our work qualifies for energy rebates from local agencies such as:

  • D.C. renewable energy incentive program
  • Maryland Home Performance with Energy Star and various county rebate programs
  • Virginia energy efficiency rebate programs

Even if you are just starting to think about making energy efficiency improvements to your home, we will be happy to provide a free consultation to help you explore your options.

Why should I use EDGE Energy for my Energy Rating?

All of our energy raters are certified by HERS (Home Energy Rating System) and RESNET® (Residential Energy Services Network), affiliates of the United States Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Star programs.
